LOUIS KILCOYNE hinted at the possibility of all Ireland team reemerging at some future date when he spoke at the Forum for Peace and Reconciliation in Dublin yesterday.
This, of course, is a hoary old chestnut as far as football followers are concerned and the FAT president was at pains to stress that it was unlikely to happen in the short term.
"It's an aspiration rather than a practical proposition at this point and the reasons have more to do with pragmatism than any other consideration," he said.
"This is a small island with a small population and from that kind of base success will always be difficult to attain. If the two associations got together and pooled resources it would be one way of minimising that handicap."
