A KILANERIN side, despite being short three of their regulars, strolled to a surprisingly easy 10 point vie tory over St Joseph's in their Leinster club SF championship quarterfinals at Gorey yesterday.
It was a game which took a surprising turn from the outset as the Wexford side were in total control, with Seamus Hughes dominating midfield and full forward John Hegarty causing the visitor's defence all kinds of problems.
St Joseph's played with further inspiration on the resumption, but they were unable to find a way through the Kilanerin defence, with goalkeeper Barry Hughes bringing off two fine saves from Adrian O'Sullivan and David O'Reilly.
Although they shot three quick points through Niall Gibbon (2) and David O'Reilly, any hope of a St Joseph's revival disappeared when Philip Duffy and Adrian O'Sullivan were sent off in the 47th and 50th minutes.
