Fermanagh 1-12 Down 0-13:A GOAL from forward Ryan Keenan two minutes from time ensured Fermanagh remained unbeaten in division three as they overcame Down at Páirc Esler, Newry, yesterday.

Down opened strongly and points from Peter Turley, Aidan Carr and Ambrose Rodgers shot them ahead. Three times points were exchanged before Fermanagh struck for two from Ryan Keenan and one from a Jonathan McGurn 45 to give Down a 0-7 to 0-6 half-time lead.

There were still two points between the sides 10 minutes into the second half with John Clarke and Ronan Murtagh scoring for Down and Liam McBarron sending over for Fermanagh.

Twice points were exchanged as the game entered the final quarter with Down still two ahead. They went into a 0-13 to 0-9 lead with points from Ambrose Rodgers, Paul McCumiskey and Aidan Carr.

It was now that Fermanagh came back strongly. Ciarán and Tommy McElroy, from a 45, had points. With two minutes left a Fermanagh attack saw an effort from James Sherry blocked but Keenan reacted quickest to score a goal to give Fermanagh the lead.

Ciarán McElroy added a point and Fermanagh held out for a final meeting with Wexford.
