Katiykha made all the running to win the listed Victor McCalmond Memorial Stakes at Gowran Park last night, with the lone English raider Bedara finishing fifth after having every chance.
A triple winner last season when trained by Luca Cumani in Newmarket, Katiykha drifted out in the betting to 100 to 30 but still managed to beat the opposition with a brave, front-running display under Johnny Murtagh.
Fourth at Leopardstown when pacemaking for the Ascot Gold Cup winner, Enzeli, recently, Katiykha galloped on strongly despite being challenged on both sides in the home straight by the eventual runner-up Palace Royale and Simplicity.
The John Oxx-trained Katiykha eventually had a length and the same to spare over her closest pursuers.
Katiykha was completing a double for Oxx, Murtagh and the Aga Khan, the partnership having struck with newcomer Kermiyana in the Kilkenny Maiden.
Oxx reported that Sinndar, his Derby contender, is in good form for Saturday's Classic at Epsom.
Pat Eddery put the seal on a marvellous day when he secured his fifth success with a victory aboard newcomer Free-four-racing in the Hilary Needler Trophy at Beverley last night.
Eddery, who notched a treble at Yarmouth's afternoon meeting, had struck on Middlethorpe in the first race on the Beverley card.
