Godolphin's European campaign came unstuck in the mud at Longchamp in France when Kabool trailed in last of four in the Group One Prix Ganay.

The £50,000 10-and-a-half furlong prize fell to 4 to 6 favourite Indian Danehill by two lengths from Greek Dance, trained by Michael Stoute.

Indian Danehill was last into the straight but Olivier Peslier threaded his way through the heavy going to pass Greek Dance over a furlong out.

Long-time leader Kabool was a spent force at this stage coming in three lengths behind third placed Chelsea Manor, who had a similar margin between him and the runner-up.

Godolphin's racing manager Simon Crisford shrugged: "We're disappointed to finish last. The ground wasn't ideal but it was the same for all of us."

Indian Danehill has the Prix d'Ispahan at Longchamp in three weeks' time on his agenda while Greek Dance's next move has yet to be determined.

Coral Pritchard-Gordan representing Greek Dance's camp said: "He loved the ground today but we will wait and see where he goes next."
