Group A: French striker David Trezeguet scored twice for Juventus as the Italian side beat Bayern Munich 2-1 at the Delle Alpi, Turin, last night.

The result leaves the teams favourites for qualification from the group and still in the top two spots with nine points each from four matches. Although the sides are now level on points, Juventus lead the group as they have a superior goal difference to their German rivals. Bayern won the first game between the sides by the same scoreline last month.

Trezeguet put Juventus in front in the 62nd minute but four minutes later a Sebastian Deisler free-kick from far and wide on the left passed through the penalty area untouched and into the bottom corner of goalkeeper Christian Abbiati's goal.

A French combination provided the winner for the home side in the 85th minute with Patrick Vieira picking out Trezeguet, who brought the ball down superbly before firing past goalkeeper Oliver Kahn on the turn.
