ITV have secured the rights to transmit delayed broadcasts of all of England's games at Twickenham from the start of next season. The sub- licensing deal, completed in conjunction with the English RFU and Sky Television, means that extended highlights will be shown on the terrestrial channel after live broadcasts on Sky.
Last year, the satellite station secured rights to England's home internationals for five years in a deal that nearly brought an end to the Five Nations championship.
Ireland, Scotland and Wales were upset at the RFU's decision to sell off the rights to England's matches, but later agreed another deal with the BBC which wills broadcast their Five Nations home games.
RFU secretary Tony Hallett said: "We are delighted that ITV has become the terrestrial broadcaster for English rugby. Their coverage will compliment Sky and provide tremendous afternoons of rugby to the armchair viewer at a time of day when the sport will be reaching a wider and larger audience."
Sky will also show England's clash with Australia in Sydney next Saturday. Their chief executive, Sam Chisholm, said: "We are pleased to have IT" as our partner for England's Twickenham matches."
