Motor Sport: Eddie Irvine escaped unhurt after his first run in the new Jaguar R2 was brought to a premature end yesterday.
The Ulsterman careered off the last corner of the Valencia circuit, bouncing across the gravel trap before coming to rest against a tyre wall.
The team's official website revealed that the front end of the R2 was badly damaged.
With only one test car remaining in Valencia, team-mate Luciano Burti was not able to complete any further testing and the Brazilian will not test until next week at Silverstone and Barcelona.
