MURRAY KIDD was born in New Zealand and played at representative level for King Country. He subsequently played and coached in France before establishing his initial connections with Ireland.
1990: Appointed coach to Garryowen, a position he held for three seasons. Under him, Garryowen finished runners-up in the Insurance Corporation All-Ireland League in 1990-91, won the AIL in 1991-92 and the Munster Senior Cup in 1992-93.
1993: Appointed coach to Sunday's Well. The club won promotion to the first division of the AIL and won the Munster Senior Cup in 1993-94.
1994: Returned to New Zealand and appointed coach to King Country, but did not last the season in that capacity and resigned the position.
1995: Returned to Ireland and again appointed coach to Sunday's Well. Took over as coach to the Ireland side in October 1995. Has had two New Zealand forward coaching assistants since, John Mitchell last season and Mike Brewer this season.
