DESPITE sending a largely experimental squad to Vancouver, with seven of their players aged 21 or under, England made it two wins out of two yesterday in the five nations' women's hockey tournament when they came from behind to beat the hosts 2-1.

Given that both England and Canada are in Ireland's World Cup qualifying pool in Zimbabwe, coach Terry Gregg will have been an interested observer of the match.

Having lost to the Canadians in their opening match of the tournament, Ireland face another difficult task today when they take on the USA, bronze medallists at the 1994 World Cup finals in Dublin.
