The Irish women's squash team suffered yet more disappointment at the World Team Championships in Malaysia yesterday, losing to 19th seeds Spain. The defeat moves Ireland into the 15th to 16th place play-off.

Aisling McArdle put up a gallant performance against Spanish number one Natalia Meneu, before going down in five games and the tie was lost when Sutton's Louise Finnegan was beaten in straight games by Elisabet Sado. Olivia French grabbed a consolation win when she beat Elena Sanchez in a best-of-three sets match.
