FRANCIS HOWLEY goes in to today's Canarias Challenge in Las Palmas looking for improved form on the greens and eager to improve on his record in his last two Challenge Tour events when he missed the cut.
The 27-year-old Sligo professional is in 56th place in the Challenge Tour rankings with £1,200 in earnings. Howley is hopeful that he can improve his form sufficiently to challenge for a place in the top 15 which would give back his card for the main Tour next year.
"I have been hitting the ball quite well but my pulling has been dreadful," he says. "After finishing 12th in Sardinia three weeks ago, I have missed the cut in the last two events because I haven't holed my pulls. When I get back I'm going to take two weeks off to work on my game."
Ireland's Martin Sludds is also in the field at Las Palmas.
