Tipperary 2-16 Cork 1-9:CATHAL HORAN'S two first-half goals set Tipperary on their way to a comfortable 10-point victory at Semple Stadium yesterday.

The Mullinahone corner forward struck in the ninth minute and again three minutes before half-time.

Tipp led by 2-5 to 0-8 at half-time and although Cork pulled a goal back through Pa O’Callaghan they then failed to score for a large period of the second half as Tipp made the game safe.

Liam McGrath eclipsed Horan in the scoring stakes with a nine-point haul from placed balls against a Cork side that hit just five points from play.
