The long-awaited heavyweight unification showdown between Britain's World Boxing Council (WBC) titleholder Lennox Lewis and the World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) champion Evander Holyfield has been agreed in London.
Leewis' manager Frank Maloney confirmed late last night that the fight would go ahead in February or March - probably at Las Vegas.
"The only thing that can stop it now is if either fighter does not agree with the terms," added Maloney after negotiations with Holyfield's promoter Don King.
King, speaking on a BBC radio programme, confirmed that the deal had been agreed between the promoters and that the major stumbling block of which pay-per-view network would get the rights to the bout had been sorted out. "Everybody has gotten what they wanted," said King.
"The problems have been resolved because we're deferring to Lennox and fighting on his network. The fight will be in the first quarter of next year."
