Galileo has been rated superior to Epsom Derby, Irish Derby and Arc winner Sinndar at the same stage last year.
Irish Handicapper Garry O'Gorman and his British counterpart Nigel Gray agree on a 126-plus rating for Galileo after his Derby success. The mark is 1lb higher than Sinndar achieved in the race.
Gray said: "Garry and I have rated Galileo at 126 at this stage. It was impossible to know how good he was before the race and it's still difficult to quantify.
"It's the highest post-race rating I've given a Derby winner. Of the last six winners, all but one have ended the season on a higher rating than their post-Derby rating. Sinndar was awarded 132."
Derby disappointment Dilshaan was yesterday reported "perfectly fine" after his seventh place behind Galileo last Saturday. The Michael Stoute-trained colt was sent off a well-fancied 5 to 1 chance, but his supporters soon knew their fate once the field entered the home straight.
Joe Mercer, for owner Saeed Suhail, said: "The horse is perfectly fine after the race."
Mercer believes a slow early gallop did not help Dilshaan's chances. "He didn't run up to what we all expected," he said. "I know it was a very fast time, but their was no pace in the first half of the race. They went very steady for the first mile.
"When the speed was injected just after the four-furlong marker and when the winner has decided to kick for home in the straight the other horses were caught flat-footed.
"It was asking them to do something too quickly and I think that possibly applied to Dilshaan. The pace usually increases from six out at the top of the hill and gradually builds up, then a horse can find his stride."
Mercer also said that there were no immediate plans for Dilshaan.
Curragh trainer Michael Grassick intends to be triplehanded at Royal Ascot next week. Grassick said yesterday that he will run Just Special in the Cork And Orrery Stakes, Lime Gardens in the Ribblesdale Stakes and he is hopeful that Katherine Seymour will be fit in time to run in the Coronation Stakes.
The filly was struck into in the Irish 1,000 Guineas a fortnight ago and sustained a nasty cut. She was stitched and treated with antibiotics, but Grassick said he had not yet ruled her out of the Ascot Group One contest on Friday week.
Just Special moved into the Ascot reckoning when winning at Leopardstown last Wednesday. Grassick's two previous successes at the Royal meeting both came with San Sebastian, who won the Ascot Stakes and the Queen Alexandra Stakes.
