Fiji's Vijay Singh, the winner of last week's Honda Classic, and two-time runner-up Davis Love lead a group of 11 golfers at three-under 69. Tiger Woods and defending champion Ernie Els of South Africa, seeking his second title of the year, both shot two-over 74s.

Last month, Els extended his string of years with at least one PGA Tour win to six with a victory at the Nissan Open. Overall, Els has won seven titles, including two US Open crowns. Last year, he posted a four-stroke victory over Bob Estes and Jeff Maggert. With rain forcing 36 holes on Sunday, Els opened a six-shot lead after three rounds before closing with a 73.
