The Australian cricket fan who sparked off the crowd trouble which led to England walking off in the February 1971 Ashes Test at Sydney has finally owned up. Octogenerian Trevor Guy answered an ABC radio appeal for the man who leant across the boundary fence and grabbed England fast bowler John Snow by the shirt in the incident which led to play being suspended.
Guy, who had never been identified, told the Sydney Morning Herald on Wednesday he was angry with Snow for felling Australian tailender Terry Jenner with a bouncer and grabbed Snow by the shirt to make sure he heard what he had to say. And that's all Eric Cantona was trying to do at Crystal Palace when he launched himself into the crowd.
