Paul Carberry captured the riding honours on the concluding day of the Tralee Festival when he recorded a near 760 to 1 three-timer compliments of Bitofabreeze, Persian Life and Candy Gale.
After Bitofabreeze set the ball rolling for the Meathman in the opener when providing Tallow, Co Waterford-permit holder Michael Griffin with his first success since renewing his permit only three months ago, Carberry was soon back in the winners enclosure after the Purcell Bros Ltd Paget Cup.
This time, in typical fashion, he simply oozed confidence on Noel Meade's Persian Life from flag-fall recording a pillar-to-post success when coming home eased right down in the closing stages from Triptodicks.
Gillian O'Brien, representing the winning trainer, said: "The fast ground made the difference, not to mention the Paul Carberry factor. Depending on the ground, he'll go to Listowel."
Candy Gale, owned and trained by Edenderry dentist Jimmy Groome, completed the Carberry treble to bring his tally for the season onto the 10 winner mark. He is now just four behind leader Ruby Walsh in the championship race.
Dance So Suite brought his unbeaten tally over hurdles to four when comfortably landing the Barrys Bakery Novice Hurdle under Norman Williamson. Edward O'Grady has the Kevin McManus Novice Hurdle at Tipperary in October mapped out for the former Paul Cole-trained gelding which came home nine lengths clear of Union Town at odds of 2 to 5.
"He may have a run in the Cesarewitch beforehand and will go to Fairyhouse in November after Tipperary and then have a break.
"He enjoys his hurdling and merits an entry in all the big novice races in the Spring. He could be a Liverpool horse," said O'Grady.
