RACING:Edward Harty is one of the few trainers to boast a profit to a level stake on their runners this season and can boost that statistic significantly at Fairyhouse today with a double for owner JP McManus.
Fahamore was the last of the Curragh trainer’s six winners this term when successful at Limerick on St Stephen’s Day. An 8lb rating hike for that defeat of See Double You takes Fahamore up to a mark of 123, alongside Abbey Lane who hasn’t appeared in over a year and a half but is having a first start for Willie Mullins. Race-fitness can swing things Fahamore’s way and give him a third career victory.
Mullins also provides a rival to Harty’s Classic Event in the second maiden hurdle but the McManus-owned runner looks capable of stepping up on three starts to date, the last of which saw him run on well behind easy winner Wingtips at Navan.
Sarabad has proved expensive to follow so far and Mister Hotelier, having a second start over flights, can emerge best in the first maiden while the veteran Farmaland is handicapped to make a mark today on the back of a promising return to action at Clonmel last month.
