GOLF: PÁDRAIG HARRINGTON shot a three-under-par 69 in the opening round of the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow in Charlotte yesterday.

The Dubliner followed a bogey on the par-four fifth with four birdies in seven holes to enjoy a strong start to the tournament in North Carolina.
