RACING: Moscow Flyer remains on course for the Queen Mother Champion Chase after pleasing trainer Jessica Harrington in a spin at the Curragh yesterday morning.
The 11-year-old is the 13 to 8 second favourite behind Azertyuiop for the two-mile race after winning all of his four starts this season. Moscow Flyer has already beaten Azertyuiop in the Tingle Creek Trophy this season and Mrs Harrington has been satisfied with his progress since he won at Punchestown in January.
"Everything went well this morning. He just went on the gallop at the Curragh and I was pleased with him - he's done well since his last run," said Mrs Harrington, who also had her Smurfit Champion Hurdle hope Macs Joy in action. She added: "Macs Joy also worked. He went well and is on course for Cheltenham."
Noel Meade has given Harchibald a glowing reference as the Smurfit Champion Hurdle favourite continues his build up to the big day in two weeks' time. Unbeaten in his last three starts, the six-year-old is the general 4 to 1 favourite for the March 15 event and has been pleasing the Co Meath trainer with his preparation. "He did a nice piece of work at Fairyhouse last Saturday and I was very happy with the way things went," Meade said.
"He'll probably go to Leopardstown for another piece of work. He seems in great shape and I'm very happy with him. If we can get him to Cheltenham in the same shape and condition, I'll be very pleased."
