JESSICA HARRINGTON and the connections of Magical Memoir have lodged an appeal to the Turf Club against the disqualification of their horse at Galway on Saturday, writes Brian O'Connor.
Magical Memoir finished a length and a half ahead of Days Ahead in a maiden hurdle at the Ballybrit track only to be placed behind her rival due to interference between the pair in the closing stages.
Days Ahead’s jockey Davy Russell appeared to snatch up on his mount close home as Magical Memoir and her jockey Mark Bolger drifted right.
The Turf Club’s referrals committee recently restored on appeal the placings for the flat race won by Separate Ways at the summer festival when David Marnane’s runner was placed behind Luttrell Lady by the racecourse stewards after an incident in the closing stages.
