SLIGO SFC FINAL Eastern Harps 0-13 Tourlestrane 0-10:MICHAEL DODDY and Paul Taylor masterminded Eastern Harps dramatic win over Tourlestrane at Markievicz Park yesterday.
Tourlestrane, who were bidding to win back-to-back county titles, staged a courageous fight back in the closing minutes of the game but they were unable to create the goal that would have forced a replay.
Taylor’s haul of nine points, seven from frees, meant that he finished the year with a total of two goals and 37 points in five championship games.
This was Harps’ fourth county final in a row, winning in 2008 and losing to Tourlestrane in 2007 and again last year.
While Taylor put the points on the board with unerring accuracy the contribution made by Doddy with his determined runs all through the game was also immense.
