Carlow trailed by 0-7 to 0-2 at the break after their forwards failed to make use of the many chances they had.
Wing forward Tony Hannon was the chief marksman for Wicklow with six points, half of them from frees and a 45. The visitors' chances diminished greatly in the second half when they were reduced to 14 men with the sending-off of Richard Sinnott.
