Scott Gump tied the course record with a second-round eightunder-par 62 at River Highlands in Connecticut yesterday to take a one-stroke lead in the Greater Hartford Open.
Gump, who hasn't won in seven years, was 10 under par, one ahead of Omar Uresti, who shot a 64, and former US Masters winner Larry Mize, who had a 63.
Ireland's Richie Coughlan, who shot an opening 69, followed up with a level-par 70 to make the cut on 139. Coughlan, just back following a rib muscle tear, hasn't made the weekend for over a month.
