Shelbourne last night arrived home from their Champions League success in Macedonia with an air of guarded optimism ahead of next week's second leg against Sloga Jugomagnat, writes Paul Buttner.
And after the celebrations following their long awaited 1-0 win in Skopje's National Stadium had died down, manager Dermot Keely led the chorus in stressing the need to avoid complacency at Tolka Park on Wednesday if the National League double winners are to progress to a second qualifying round tie with Rosenborg of Norway.
"Sloga were a very good side technically," said Keely. "We were second best in that department.
"I'll have to study the video of the game before deciding on any tactical switches. I've warned the players that it's only half-time in the tie and we've still much hard work to do."
