Group G: Romania v Tunisia

Romania are out to make sure of topping their group today, but coach Anghel Iordanescu is sure to ring the changes

Romania are out to make sure of topping their group today, but coach Anghel Iordanescu is sure to ring the changes. Tunisia are already eliminated and have fired their coach, but a classy 2-1 victory against England announced Romania as a force to be reckoned with and ensured qualification to the second round.

It also meant they could expect to secure a second round match against Croatia rather than the more fancied Argentinians.

But it will be a changed side that faces the Tunisians. Gheorghe Popescu, Dan Petrescu and Liviu Ciobotariu were booked in the previous group matches and a second bookable offence would automatically ban them from the second round.

Gheorghe Hagi and Dorinel Munteanu were also booked during the matches against Colombia and England.
