Four of the five Irish players in the field for the Ladies European Tour Q-School have qualified for the final day, making the 72-hole cut for the 90-hole competition.
Anna Foster, Annabel Wilson, Sara Byrne and amateur Canice Screene all made the cut in Morocco, where a top-20 finish would ensure a category 12 membership that would entitle them to play in almost all Ladies European Tour events. Players 21 to 50 receive category 16 membership, while the remaining final qualifiers get category 19 membership.
Dubliner Foster produced a round of two-under-par 70 at Royal Golf Marrakech to be in solo fifth place on 13 under par, the best of the Irish players.
Ecuador’s Daniela Darquea fired a round of seven-under-par 66 to hold a two-shot lead.

“It’s funny, I shot one under here the other day, and I felt like I played a lot better here today and I was reminding myself of that throughout the round when I wasn’t at the same score,” said Foster.
“I stayed super patient and kept grinding it out and finally, a few dropped towards the end which was great to see. Especially the last five holes, just being able to bring that momentum into tomorrow will be great.
“My short game in general was good, I had to do a bit of work today. I give a lot of credit to my scrambling, it’s quite an intimidating course to play in comparison to Al Maaden, so really trying to plot your way around is the main focus. All I was trying to do was fairway, green, two-putt, next hole. To make a few birdies was a bonus.”
Annabel Wilson is two shots behind Foster on 11 under after a fourth-round 69. Byrne is tied 13th on eight under, while Screene is tied 26th on five under.
The final round will be played on Al Maaden Golf Marrakech, where the winner of the event receives €5,000.
