MARK OF ESTEEM gave North America its first glimpse of Europe's leading Breeders' Cup contender as he stepped out of his quarters at Woodbine, Toronto yesterday.

The Mile hot favourite led the Godolphin quartet out of the quarantine barn onto Canadian soil for a first experience of the turf track.

Together with Charnwood Forest, Wall Street and Tamayaz, he stretched his legs on a gentle tour of the mile and a half circuit.

Godolphin trainer Saeed bin Suroor said: "All our work riders are very happy with the horses. On the first day we just wanted to give them a steady canter to get to know the track.

Bin Suroor is awaiting confirmation from Sheikh Mo hammed but Walter Swinburn, who will partner Pilsudski in the Turf, is expected to ride Charnwood Forest and Jose Santos, a winner of five Breeders' Cup races, Wall Street.

Medications such as Lasix, which was used before Halling's dismal failure in the Classic last year, could be administered again to the Godolphin challengers.

Singspiel, the one British challenger with previous experience of Woodbine, will run on Lasix again as he did when easily landing the Canadian International last month.

Betting on the Breeders' Cup events remains light but French Mile challenger Spinning World, who walked the quarantine area like the rest of the European contingent, was Ladbrokes' main mover from 7 to 1 to 5 to 1.
