Cork 1-19 Antrim 1-9: A much-changed Cork pulled away in the second half at Páirc Uí Rinn on Saturday to preserve their 100 per cent record in the league. Fielding just seven players from their All-Ireland winning team, Cork led by only two points at half-time, 0-7 to 0-5, following a first-half highlighted by John McIntosh's sideline cut which earned Antrim two points.
The Ulster county paid the price for eight wides in the opening 35 minutes, however, when Cork pounced for their only goal within a minute of the resumption. Joe Deane's initial effort was parried by goalkeeper Damien Quinn, only for the Cork player to kick in the rebound.
That ignited the home side's challenge and scores began to flow freely with Deane's free-taking punishing the visitors.
Antrim did have the satisfaction of breaching the Cork defence in the closing minutes with a goal from McIntosh, but it was no more than a token score as the Leesiders remain on course for a place in the top flight of the second phase of the competition.
