GOODWOOD:GHANAATI WILL face eight rivals as she bids for a hat-trick of Group One victories in tomorrow's BGC Sussex Stakes at Goodwood.

The Barry Hills-trained filly has already bagged the 1000 Guineas and Coronation Stakes this term, but faces the colts and older rivals for the first time.

Rip Van Winkle, runner-up in the Eclipse for trainer Aidan O’Brien, also represents the Classic generation as he bids for a first victory this season.

O’Brien also runs Malibu Bay, while Karl Burke sends out Prix Jean Prat winner Lord Shanakill.

Mick Channon’s Lahaleeb completes the three-year-old team.

Although Lahaleeb was among the final declarations, her participation will rest on the ground.

Channon also has Sunday’s Prix Rothschild at Deauville as an option for the Irish 1000 Guineas runner-up, who was last seen finishing fifth in the Coronation Stakes.

Queen Anne Stakes winner Paco Boy is the pick of the older battalion for Richard Hannon, with Jeremy Noseda saddling Royal Hunt Cup victor Forgotten Voice, despite his flop at Doncaster last time.

Beacon Lodge and Mia’s Boy round out the nine-strong field for one of the highlights of Glorious Goodwood.
