Former Ireland coach Warren Gatland has been linked with a coaching position in the New Zealand camp. The story ran on Radio New Zealand yesterday although neither Gatland, new All Black coach John Mitchell nor anyone from the New Zealand Rugby Union was able to substantiate it. The station implied that Gatland had received several offers including an unspecified one to join Mitchell's backroom team.
Gatland and Mitchell are former flatmates and the former Irish coach is heading home to New Zealand shortly for an extended holiday: he has already indicated that he is happy in Galway, however, and would like to stay there for the foreseeable future.
