Mercy College, Woodford captured the All-Ireland Colleges' Senior Hurling B title in Swords yesterday with Alan Garvey's superb tally of 2-7 helping them to a nine-point victory over Colaiste Eamon Ris. Coached by former Galway mentor Cyril Farrell, Mercy College went on the rampage in the second half with four goals.
It was a major blow to their Kilkenny opponents who were 1-1 up without reply after just four minutes.
But the scores dried up in the second half with two many balls dropping into the hands of Woodford goalkeeper Brian Cahill.
