GALWAY deservedly beat Wexford in the Bord an Gaelige-sponsored All-Ireland senior camogie semi-final at St Brendan's Park, Loughren, yesterday.
The winners' goal came after 90 seconds when Denise Gilligan sent in a probing ball which was kept from going wide by Martian Harkin, who spotted 16-year-old full-forward Veronica Curtin. She flicked to the net past Brenda Murphy from 10 yards.
Galway led 1-7 0-1 at half-time. Wexford's goal came in the 56th minute, when a mis-hit Esme Murphy shot was deflected off the foot of full-forward Liz Murphy.
