GAA: GALWAY BOSS Tomás Ó Flatharta has called up half a dozen members of the All-Ireland winning under-21 side for the senior championship.
The six newcomers are in addition to three other members of the victorious under-21 side – skipper Colin Forde, defender Jonathan Duane and attacker Danny Cummins – who have featured in the national league for the Tribesmen.
The impressive Galway U-21 midfield partnership of Thomas Flynn and Fionntáin Ó Curraoin – both of whom were minors last year – have been rewarded for a superb campaign with a call-up.
And centre forward Mark Hehir and wing forward Michael Boyle have also been drafted in along with defenders Tomás Fahy and Josh Moore.
Galway will open their campaign on June 26th when they take on Mayo in Castlebar – provided James Horan’s men overcome London in their quarter-final clash in Ruislip later this month.
