Mayo minors complete their half of the deal

Scoring spree either side of interval key in victory over Tyrone

Mayo 2-13 Tyrone 1-13: Mayo completed the first half of what they hope will be an All-Ireland double as the county minor team held off a fightback from Tyrone to win their first title in 28 years.

The outcome of the game was decided either side of half-time as the Connacht side blitzed Tyrone, with Tommy Conroy and Darragh Doherty scoring goals either side of the interval.

Conroy’s brilliant finish gave Mayo a 1-4 to 0-6 lead at the break and Doherty also added two points to his goal as Mayo built up a 2-8 to 0-6 lead 10minutes into the second half.

Tyrone fought their way back to get within three points, but just when the Ulster side looked like turning the tide, Mayo pointed through Conroy and Conor Loftus.
