Cork hurler Lorcan McLoughlin to miss Waterford game

Alan Brogan heading into last championship campaign with Dublin footballers

Cork have lost another defender ahead of their Munster hurling quarter-final against Waterford on June 7th after Lorcan McLoughlin dislocated his shoulder in a club game at the weekend.

Wing back McLoughlin will be out for at least six weeks after sustaining the injury playing for Kanturk. Fellow defender Christopher Joyce is already out for the season having torn his cruciate in March.

Meanwhile Dublin footballer Alan Brogan(33) has admitted he’s now heading into his last championship campaign, after rejoining Jim Gavin’s panel after the end of the league: “I always knew in the back of mind that I did want to come back for one more year,” he said, “but obviously, when you get to my age and you have a young family, there are other elements of your life that you have to take care of as well.

“This could be the last shot I have at this, so I’ll try to give it everything.”
