England pace bowler Dominic Cork yesterday suffered another setback to add to his World Cup disappointment.
The Derbyshire star, who missed England's quarter-final loss to Sri Lanka last weekend because of a knee problem, went into hospital for an operation on his tonsils.
Derbyshire secretary Reg Taylor said that a broken nose suffered several years ago had forced Cork to breathe through his mouth too much, affecting his tonsils.
Cork - due to see a specialist shortly about his injured knee will also undergo surgery on his sinuses and is expected to remain in hospital for three or four days.
