Division One

Derry v Mayo, Celtic Park– Derry's spirits are up after an excellent under-21 result during the week, whereas Mayo have drifted in the other direction after the disappointment of the narrow defeat in Castlebar by Dublin when John O'Mahony's side had enough chances to win two matches.

Derry had their own problems down in Tralee after taking the early initiative.

Manager Damian Cassidy was frustrated by the lack of productivity when Kerry had their best spell in the match and his team could hardly get their hands on the ball.

Nonetheless, Celtic Park is a big advantage for Derry and with the improved pick again available to Cassidy – Bradleys forming the spine of the attack and Kevin McCloy at full back – they can press home that advantage.

Dublin v Monaghan, Parnell Park– Dublin's reformed character, jungle combat in defence and the ability to live off meagre provisions up front as well as a developing ability to win matches by tight margins, has raised hopes in the capital, but, like any side showing well in the league, the testing of the credentials never stops.

This will be another test.

Monaghan have been as sticky as expected and can contextualise the defeats by Cork (last-minute) and Galway (down two men) while taking some satisfaction from edging out Tyrone.

Although the counties are at different ends of the table, Monaghan have been scoring a lot, while Dublin haven’t, but the youthful home defence gets a tentative vote to lay the foundation for another win.

Tyrone v Cork, Omagh– Interesting resumption of hostilities between the Ulster and Munster champions, who sit at opposite ends of the table.

Cork may have ridden their luck at stages in all three wins and Tyrone will feel hard done by the narrowness of their defeats by Monaghan and Mayo, but it makes for a six-point difference.

Mickey Harte is able to recall Philip Jordan and Seán Cavanagh, who both start on the bench, after injury.

Although Cork have some excellent talent coming through, Conor Counihan has gone for stable selections and Nicholas Murphy – a late withdrawal against Galway – is the only change.

Aidan Cassidy has impressed at centrefield for Tyrone, but will be up against the imposing Cork pair of Pearse O’Neill and Alan O’Connor, although the overall effect isn’t quite as formidable, with Graham Canty still out and Nicholas Murphy up at full forward.

Tonight, Mark Donnelly makes his league debut having done well in the McKenna Cup – scoring 2-2 against Cavan. Cork got off to a flier against Galway, but ended up running it very close.

There is a danger that Tyrone will punish any similar drift in concentration, but Cork’s scoring power can keep the 100 per cent record intact.

Donegal v Down, Ballybofey– Some readjustments last week, with Kildare caning Donegal and Down surprisingly dropping a point at home to Tipperary, which manager James McCartan almost welcomed as an antidote to the rising hype surrounding the team.

When the sides met in the McKenna Cup, Down were under-strength and still nearly caught Donegal by the end.

Away win.

Cavan v Wexford, Kingspan Breffni Park– Bad news for Wexford yesterday with high-performing newcomer Ben Brosnan getting suspended by the CHC.

Cavan haven’t been going well, but the return of Lorcan Mulvey and Micheál Lyng should improve the team. Even so Wexford can travel hopefully.

Limerick v Waterford, Gaelic Grounds– A tricky task for Limerick, as Waterford are unbeaten, but they should maintain the promotion push.

Munster Under-21 FC

Kerry v Cork, Austin Stack Park, 2pm – All-Ireland champions Cork have about half the starting team from last year's final against Down and have to be favourites albeit against a useful looking Kerry side.

Tomorrow

(all 2.30pm unless stated)

NFL Division One

Galway v Kerry, Pearse Stadium– Paul Conroy starts in the Galway centrefield even though he's with the under-21s on Wednesday.

It was an area where Cork’s ball winning and mobility wrought much damage last week.

Joe Kernan also must bear the loss of Seán Armstrong to injury. Michael Meehan was top-class last week snapping up whatever quality of ball came his way. Kerry turned it around against Derry in a flash and saw a welcome return from Kieran Donaghy and a return to form by David Moran.

Galway’s half forwards is completely changed into an amalgam of non-specialists designed to win some ball and try to supply the inside line. The Kerry attack looks more potent and the team’s engine room more likely to keep the team going forward regardless of home advantage.

NFL Division Two

Armagh v Kildare, Crossmaglen– A hard-fought win for Armagh in Portlaoise last time out was followed by bad news about a relapse of Ronan Clarke's Achilles injury. Kevin Dyas is also out in the medium term and the net effect is more than debilitating.

Kildare sprang to life in whacking Donegal and their form relocated, Kieran McGeeney’s team can give him a pleasant return to his own county.

Tipperary v Meath, Thurles, 12.45pm – Tipp bucked the season's trend when getting a draw in Down whereas Meath were quite lucky to pull out a late, late winner after being reeled in by Westmeath.

Eamonn O’Brien’s team had left themselves vulnerable to this by squandering chances in a dominant first half.

They may be vulnerable against a fired-up home side, but Meath have enough in hand to safeguard the points.

Westmeath v Laois, Mullingar– Both of these teams revived in the last outing but ended up with one-point defeats. Westmeath, perhaps encouraged by their under-21s' emphatic win over Meath that afternoon, proceeded to come within seconds of a first league point. The return of Martin Flanagan is a further lift for Brendan Hackett's men.

Laois recovered from the mauling in Donegal to push Armagh all the way but are looking ragged at the moment. Even so, they are favourites here.

NFL Division Three

Fermanagh v Louth, Brewster Park– Martin McGrath may make a first appearance tomorrow after recovering from tendonitis, as Malachy O'Rourke's team hope to build on the improved performance in Casement Park.

Louth have been playing more consistent football and should win.

Roscommon v Antrim, Dr Hyde Park– Despite Roscommon's big improvement they shouldn't be able to cope with the leaders, who have momentum in what is likely to be a huge week for football in the county.

Sligo v Offaly, Markievicz Park– Kevin Walsh's team leaked too many goals in Wexford but will be expected to get their campaign back on the tracks at home to Offaly.

Eamonn O’Hara returns to the bench after recovering from a broken wrist.

NFL Division Four

Carlow v Kilkenny, Dr Cullen Park – Carlow to repeat their under-21s success of midweek.

Longford v Wicklow, Pearse Park– It was a bit of a surprise when Wicklow won the counties' championship encounter but things have changed.

London v Clare, Ruislip, 1.30pm – Clare to maintain their promotion push.
