Mathieu Flamini has reaffirmed his long-term commitment to Arsenal and hopes to agree a new deal at the Premier League club in the near future.
The French central midfield player, who had been a fringe player at the Emirates Stadium until this campaign, has been integral to the progress of Arsene Wenger's side this term but his current contract expires at the end of the season. "Do I look as if I want to leave?" Flamini said.
"Every time I play I give 100 per cent and there is a lot of positivity in this team. I want to be part of this squad. We are a new generation and we have created a bit of history by winning at San Siro. I want to be part of the history (of this club). I hope I'll be here next season. My adviser is talking to the club and I really hope everything will be okay. I'm really happy here."
• Silvio Berlusconi has promised that Milan's defeat by Arsenal will not cost Carlo Ancelotti his job but that may change should they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League. "Ancelotti stays," Berlusconi said. "I am absolutely convinced also because of the special relationship we have with him. He has brought many victories to Milan and has the complete trust of the club." That could prove the dreaded vote of confidence. Milan are 18 points behind the Serie A leaders and in danger of missing out on the Champions League for the first time since the 2001-02 season.
