BINT SHADAYID, disqualified from second at Deauville recently, had every chance after nosing ahead of Balalaika two furlongs out in the listed John Musker Fillies's Stakes at Yarmouth yesterday. Flame Valley, unsuited by the slow early pace when second in a Listed handicap at Newcastle previously, drew away to beat dead-heaters Balalaika and Berenice by three and a half lengths.
Former jockey Greville Starkey, representing Flame Valley's trainer Michael Stoute, said: "She wants a gallop. Kieren reckons we should now run her in a Group race at the Curragh."
Saeed bin Suroor, trainer of Bint Shadayid, reaped some compensation when Saheeel gave him his second winner from three runners at the track when making all in the William Bulwer Long Memorial Maiden.
The trainer was initiating an across-the-card double as Fatefully, who opened his Yarmouth account in June, scored at Sandown later in the day.
Canovas Heart gained his fifth win of the season when comfortably reversing last month's Epsom form with favourite Portelet in the Brian Taylor Memorial Handicap.
Canovas Heart vied for the early pace with the market leader and by half way in the five furlong contest the pair were five lengths clear of their rivals.
