LEAGUE OF IRELAND PREMIER DIVISION: Sligo Rovers 0 Bohemians 0PAUL COOKE was delighted after Sligo Rovers held high-flying Bohemians to a draw at the Showgrounds on Saturday night. "Every point is a bonus but to have played against Derry City and Bohemians and picked up four points is magnificent" said the Sligo manager.

Joseph Ndo turned in a powerful performance for Bohemians distributing the ball with pinpoint accuracy but Pat Fenlon’s side were unable to crack a resolute Sligo defence. And the Dubliners were fortunate not to have conceded a couple of goals in a riveting first half.

Conor O’Grady headed narrowly wide from Owen Morrison’s free kick in the 12th minute and another Morrison free from the edge of the box a minute later was tipped away by Brian Murphy with the ball heading for the top corner of the Bohemians net. “This was a point gained for us, Sligo are an excellent team and we could have been three goals down at half-time,” said a relieved Fenlon.

Gary Deegan went close for the visitors on 25 minutes and Romauld Boco was only inches off target with a couple of headers at the other end. Sligo goalkeeper Richard Brush denied Brian Shelly shortly before half-time.

A Paul Keegan piledriver from near the centre circle flew over the Rovers goal early in the second half. The Sligo goal had a let-off in the 67th minute when Ndo found Gary Deegan with an inch perfect pass but Deegan’s effort was put behind for a corner that came to nothing. Bohemians controlled the play in the closing stages and Sligo survived a late scare when a free by substitute Cillian Brennan flew inches over the bar eight minutes from time.
