Gaelic Games Connacht League/GMIT 2-8 Clare 0-6: GMIT took their third intercounty scalp by defeating Clare at Menlough yesterday.The Galway city college, buoyed by earlier wins over Leitrim and Sligo, were always in charge and led by 1-4 to 0-3 thanks to a goal from Michael Feeney.

Feeney also found the net in the second half, while Ger Heneghan kicked three points from play.

GMIT will play neighbours NUIG in the final next weekend, with the winners earning a trip to New York next October.
