Inspired by the performance of Paddy O'Brien, UCD caught the hotly-fancied UL by surprise in this tension-packed tie in Limerick yesterday.
O'Brien hit a cracking equalising goal at the end of normal time and rattled over six points in extra time.
Limerick led 2-5 to 0-2 at half-time, with both goals coming from Galway's Fergal Healy. The UCD revival started with a goal from former Limerick player Sean O'Neill.
