KEIREN FALLON moved on to the 23 winner mark for the season when landing a 27 to 1 double aboard Panther and Hawksley Hill at Redcar yesterday.
Panther, dropped in grade after running second in a Hamilton handicap last time, duly obliged in the Kilton Claiming Stakes and landed a bit of a touch in the process James Hetherton's gelding, backed from 12 to 1 to half those odds, struck the front over a furlong out as favourite No Monkey Nuts faded and then held on well to deny Komlucky by three parts of a length.
Hetherton owns the winner in partnership with Lincolnshire school teacher Keith West.
Keith is teaching RE today, so I reckon he may have asked for a little Divine intervention," joked the Malton handler.
Hawksley Hill was produced late on by Fallon to justify 3 to 1 favouritism in the Mackinlay Memorial Handicap.
