In the London Evening Standard last week Martin Chilton picked out a gem of a quote from a West Ham souvenir magazine that was given away outside Upton Park last week.
In it, Arthur Edwards (81) was interviewed about his fondest West Ham memories. When asked to name the club's greatest ever manager he was "tempted to name Syd King (manager from 1902 to 1932), for the example he set to all managers - following our relegation in 1932, he committed suicide."
