England fought back from the brink in Sharjah (UAR) yesterday to score a dramatic eight-run win over Pakistan and storm into the Champions Trophy final with an all-win record.
Adam Hollioake's men, restricted to a modest 215 for nine from 50 overs, took wickets at regular intervals to stop Pakistan at 207 in the penultimate over after a tense battle.
Hollioake and spinner Robert Croft grabbed two wickets each to book the new-look team's berth in Friday's final. Today's match between India and the West Indies will determine England's opponents.
