The Kilmacud Crokes hurling "sevens" today will again feature some of the country's finest clubs. They include defending champions Eire Og from Nenagh, Munster club champions Wolfe Tones from Shannon, Leinster champions Camross from Laois, Rathnure from Wexford and Na Piarsaigh from Cork.
Also taking part will be Loughgiel Shamrocks from Antrim, Bodyke from Clare, Ballygalget from Down Ballinderreen from Galway, Borris-Ileigh from Tipperary and Mount Sion from Waterford. Dublin will be represented by the host club as well as the Institute of Technology.
This year is the 25th anniversary of the competition and there is a revised premier competition with entry into the tournament being limited to 32 clubs. RTE will televise the latter stages and there will be a presentation to Buffers Alley, the first winners of the competition who are again taking par.
While Glenalbyn will be the main centre of attraction, other venues being used are St Benildus College, Deerpark and Clonkeen College, Stillorgan. The action starts at 10.30 and the final of the main competition is timed for 6.0.
