Two second-half tries, the first from 19-year-old Gordon D'Arcy, helped Leinster to a two-point win in Kelso last night. D'Arcy was just one of five new, young players introduced by Leinster, all of whom acquitted themselves admirably.
Leinster trailed 10-nil at the break before D'Arcy's try in the 50th minute. Craig Chalmers extended the home side's advantage with a penalty, but the visitors finished strongest, Brian Carey converting his own try and adding a further penalty.
