Pat Eddery had mixed fortunes at Doncaster yesterday but fortunately escaped serious injury when Undeniable threw his head back and hit him in the face before the fifth race. He was thrown to the ground and lay still for a few minutes and later gave up his remaining ride.
Eddery had earlier continued in sparkling form as he brought the John Dunlop trained Dandoun a decisive length and a half winner from Aldebaran in the Doncaster Racecourse Sponsorship Club Conditions Stakes.
There were mixed fortunes for Pat's brother Paul too. He kept Ginko going strongly to hold off Ringside Jack in the 'Juggler Handicap' but the stewards found him guilty of irresponsible riding of a minor nature.
